Anna Maconi (Voghera, 1996) è un'artista visiva e ricercatrice attiva nel campo audiovisivo ed editoriale, con un focus su immagini e storie che indagano tracce di vita e la complessità dell’essere umano. Si laurea presso la Facoltà di Design e Arti della Libera Università di Bolzano, ottenendo due borse di studio per frequentare i dipartimenti di Fotografia della FH Gestaltung Bielefeld (Germania) e della Bezalel Academy (Gerusalemme). Nel 2021 consegue il Master in Arti Audiovisive e Filmmaking alla LUCA School of Art di Bruxelles.

Dal 2016 è fondatrice di Makvol Projects, progetto di editoria indipendente con cui partecipa a mostre e fiere in Europa. Dal 2018 lavora come fotografa di studio, copywriter e designer nei settori della cultura, moda e design.

Nel 2023 avvia una collaborazione con l’associazione Scacco Matto Milano, proponendo un progetto di scenografia per persone con disturbi psichiatrici, e partecipa alle residenze artistiche di Viafarini (Fabbrica del Vapore, Milano) e Borgo Racconta (patrocinata dal Ministero della Cultura e dalla Regione Basilicata), dove realizza il progetto partecipativo Un desiderio a testa sui desideri legati al patrimonio culturale e paesaggistico lucano. Sempre nel 2023 vince il bando di Bolzano Art Weeks con la performer Caterina Nebl, presentando l’installazione Bon Ton e il cortometraggio The Lady Bo Show.

Nel 2024 realizza il progetto fotografico Rosso Blu chi sei tu, sul tema dell’identità, per il Campus Itinerari Corvetto di Milano, con il contributo di Fondazione Cariplo. Espone in diverse sedi, tra cui Église (Palermo, Sull’orlo del vuoto come di un fiordo. Una raccolta di fototesti, libri d’artista e fotolibri), Palais de Tokyo (Parigi, Paris Ass Book Fair), Studio Florìda (Genova, Divago Festival), Fabrica (Treviso, Sein und Zeit), Batibōi Gallery (Cles, TN, Bon Ton) con una mostra dedicata a Bon Ton, e Le Parentesi (Palermo), che ha ospitato la sua prima personale Lucciole Milano-Palermo.

Anna Maconi (Voghera, 1996) is a visual artist and researcher active in the audiovisual and publishing fields, focusing on images and stories that explore traces of life and the complexity of the human condition. She graduated from the Faculty of Design and Arts at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, receiving two scholarships to attend the Photography Departments of FH Gestaltung Bielefeld (Germany) and the Bezalel Academy (Jerusalem). In 2021, she earned a Master’s in Audiovisual Arts and Filmmaking from the LUCA School of Arts in Brussels.

Since 2016, she has been the founder of Makvol Projects, an independent publishing project through which she participates in exhibitions and fairs across Europe. Since 2018, she has worked as a studio photographer, copywriter, and designer in the fields of culture, fashion, and design.

In 2023, she began collaborating with the Scacco Matto Milano association, proposing a scenography project for individuals with psychiatric disorders. She also participated in artist residencies at Viafarini (Fabbrica del Vapore, Milan) and Borgo Racconta (supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Basilicata Region), where she developed the participatory project Un desiderio a testa, exploring desires connected to Lucanian cultural and landscape heritage. Also in 2023, she won the Bolzano Art Weeks grant with performer Caterina Nebl, presenting the installation Bon Ton and the short film The Lady Bo Show.

In 2024, she created the photographic project Rosso Blu chi sei tu on the theme of identity for the Campus Itinerari Corvetto in Milan, supported by Fondazione Cariplo. Her work has been exhibited in various venues, including Église (Palermo, Sull’orlo del vuoto come di un fiordo. Una raccolta di fototesti, libri d’artista e fotolibri), Palais de Tokyo (Paris, Paris Ass Book Fair), Studio Florìda (Genoa, Divago Festival), Fabrica (Treviso, Sein und Zeit), Batibōi Gallery (Cles, TN, Bon Ton), with a solo show dedicated to Bon Ton, and Le Parentesi (Palermo), which hosted her first solo exhibition, Lucciole Milano-Palermo.

Statement: gentle humor and poetic gaze

From a burst of curiosity comes a healthy obsession, which gives rise to in-depth research in terms of content and form. Investigating life traces of life and conveying them visually: this is the seed of all my projects. A single principle from which heterogeneous works flourish, which often focus on the subject that fascinates me most: the human being and everything that concerns them closely - their stories, dreams, how they express themselves through the customs and spaces in which they live.
